I think he is looking at his reflection... he used to try and swim towards it but he doesn't anymore, just sits there. I haven't even seen him try to go to his basking area. I think the rocks are up too high.. I am getting a new one today. other than buying another turtle (I can't), any suggestions?

Hey Chipper,
Sounds like you really like your turtle! Did you come up with a name for it yet? I use to have a three-toed box turtle (land only) named Sam. I realize one is land and one is aquatic but how warm is it in the terrerium? I dont know much about aquatic turtles but when Sams home was really warm, it would put him in hibernation. Turtles are not the most active in captivity either. I use to take him outside every now and then in the summer and I was amazed at how fast he could move when he wanted to!
Try the new Basking area out maybe that will snap him out of it!
Let us know how he/she is doing!

I like him a lot I was thinking of bowser, but I don't want a corny name. I am getting the new thing today, and I think the habitat is quite cold is that not good? I am working at improving it. today I am taking 20$ to buy whatever I can afford. basking area and a better filter I hope.
