RB pirahna, correct? put the water in the tank and let it cycle for about 1-2 weeks (adding stress-zyme will help speed this up by establishing for bacteria) Rb's like sum good hiding spots, but them again dont overcrowd the tank b/c they can become skittish at times and dart away when frightened. RB's also can be fed anything nutritious such as flake foods. some people just feed them live food, but that can contain alot of fat and not enuff vitamins that they need. i personally feed mine hikari cichlid pellets and every few weeks about 12 feeder goldfish. goodluck with the future fish.

If you get the 60 gallon get 3. 2 is a bad number for red bellies piranha because it's not enough to shoal so they get territorial. An full red belly given enough space to grow will max out a 12"-16". It will take a very long time for them to get full grown. They grow around 1" per month until they it 6-7", then their growth rate slows down alot to maybe 1-3" per year.

If they aren't wild caught, it doesnt really matter what you put in becuase they don't know different. I would put in som nice big peices of bogwood and black sand substrate with live plants such as, amazon sword. Your substrate and background will effect your fish's colour.

DON'T STUNT IT'S GROWTH! Treat your fish good. Give it enough space to thrive. You can buy a large tank for cheap on buysell or something. I got my 75gallon with the stand, heater, power head, filter, light and canopy for $150.00. And in good condition.

Hope I helped. Good luck!

hay here is some answer to your questions of you are starting with fresh/new tank lat the tank run for about 48 to 72 hours to make sure that the temputure is right because they can get ick and you have too do a half treatment for it and the other thing is they like to water about 79 to 82 degree and you can feed them feeders, night crawlers make sure you clean the worm before you feed them and you can get some raw fish for the store and chop them up in to about the size that will fit in there mouth and one more thing put a coupe of guppies of they are baby's and when they get bigger feed them rosy reds and go to minnows you can get them at a bait store and when they get bigger i would go to the aready cute fish lat it thow out use hot water in a cup and the fish in a plastic bag it will get soft when it is thowed out and don't hand fed them put some pices in at a time and make sure they eat it too and they like some places to hind because they like to rest after they eat u can use some flower pots the is a goood one to use i hop that some of the things that i provided for you talk to you later on the net.
