Hi! I LOVE your aquariums!!! Where do you get your set up ideas from...or are you just one of those talented people when it comes to this?! Are those some kind of pots that you have in 2 of them? If so where did you get them from?

Thank you.

My mom & I are both artistically inclined (she paints, I draw, and we both are into photography) so I guess that helps some.

The little terracotta looking pot in the fry tank was actually a votive candle holder that I got for 25¢ at a thrift store. I just sanded most of the glaze off and broke a few more holes in it to make it interesting. The other 10 gallon has an old strawberry pot that I found in the crawlspace of my house and the cluster of 3 pots is a resin decoration that I bought at the LFS.

For a long finned oscar, I would avoid decorations with sharp edges that it could tear it's fins on. Personally, I would use a couple silk plants anchored with short smoot rocks. Oscars like open areas so I would put the decorations along the back of the tank and leave the rest open for swimming.

As for lighting, I just have a 4ft flourescent aquarium light on my oscar tank.
