What is a pacu and what do they look like?

Can they only be purchased in the states?

sorta like a huge perahna. if you want 1 buy a 1000gal+ tank to house it.. better off getting red hook silver dollers look simmilar but dosnt need all the room

All you really need to know about a pacu, is that they are NOT suitable for your home. Avoid them like the plague, unless you have some huge multi-thousand gallon tank.

shouldnt even be sold in my opinion they get so large and mostly all of them die prematurely because of the way they are kept in small aquariums

Pacu do have a similar look to the piranha but they are not piranha. The pacu's eye lines up with the mouth. The piranha has an underbite and the pacu has an overbite. Also, the overall shape and the fins are a little different.

there is a pet store here in indiana has a pacu and it is so big that it is in 300 gallon tank and it is big enough to eat grapes and more then 4 or 5 in one sitting he is realy big he is probly about 2 foot no bull &&&& and it is still getting bigger and it is about 5 years old it eyes are about the a grape not smaller but bigger then the grape i would not recumed is not to get one for a hause aquarium i hope that this will chage your mined about getting a pacu. talk to you later.
