Several posts have asked about converting from metric to imperial. There are many conversion tools on the internet but here is a summary:
milli-1/1000th,cent1/100th,deci-10/th;deca-10,hecto-100(do not confuse with hectare),kilo-1000 All prefixes can be used, but I'll just go over the common ones...
Length
1 metre(m)=.001kilometres(km)=100centimetres(cm)=1000millimetres(mm)
1inch=2.54cm ; 1foot=.3048m ; 1mile=1.6093km
Area
1cm2=.155in2 ; 1m2=1.196yd2 ; 1km2=.3861mile2
common metric unit is hectare(ha)(100mX100m)
1ha=2.47acres=.01km2
Volume
1 litre = 10cmX10cmX10cm = 1000cm3
1 metre3=1000 litres
1 gallon=8 pints=4.5461litres(United Kingdom)
1 gallon=8 pints=3.7854 litres(United States)
Weight
1 gram=the weight of 1mm (1cm3) of pure water
1000grams=1kilogram(kg)=2.205lbs
1000kg=1tonne(metric)=.9842tons(imp.)=the weight of 1m3 of water

Hope this helps someone.

Aggh, I forgot temperature! I found all these conversions conveniently placed in the fish and aqaurium article section anyway.

Thanks for your reply about the gold fish but i think you know you misunderstood my question abit or maybe i didn't explain myself properly. (i think i didn't explain myself properly} i can afford the stuff to breed them it just i want to save money in the long run. And gold fish are ideal as they are big, and they have a fairly good nutritional value to offer my fish.
So thanks anyway mate
