You are pretty limited with the 1 gallon tank. I would suggest a betta. A beautiful fish available in many different colors. You can only keep one male betta in a tank or they will fight. They even puff up when they see their own reflection in the bowl. IP: Logged |

IMO, a 1 gallon is even too small for a betta. It will work, but it's not the best thing for the betta. Even by the 1 inch/gallon rule that everyone is so fond of quoting, a betta will get to be nearly 2 inches and therefore need 2 gallons. -Chelle IP: Logged |

1 or 2 guppies provided that the water is heated and filtered. Some species of mosquitofish stay very small and might be appropriate too. IP: Logged |
