I hate to sound rude, but you should have researched that stuff before buying the arowana. What size tank do you have? They can get up to 3 feet long and need at least a 125 gallon aquarium.

ok those r awsome fish do u have any other fish going in with it? arownas get to be like 2 1/2 feat in a fish tank and 4 1/2 feet in the wild. to tell u the truth i would go with a 85+ with that kinda fish. well they can get bigger deppending on the size in the tank. im not saying not to get the fish im just saying it might out grow the tank. is your tank a wide, long or tall? that will be a vittle part in how it will turn out.

I used to work in an aqautic center and we had a massive arrowana the thing was like 3 an a half feet long, for decoration in the tank we used silver sand for the bottom and these big rocks with a type of moss over them i know it sounds boring but these fish spend most their time at the top of the tank so theres not much deco you can put in without taking all the attention of the fish itself.

He likes to swim at the top of the tank and back and forth. So the bottem is up to you. Bigger rock for the bottem so when you feed feeders he doesn't eat a lot of sand of little rocks. Arowana's are bad *** and you will want to feed him a lot and grow him up big. KEEP THE ENTIRE TOP OF THE TANK COVERED or he will jump out FOR SURE.
Best of luck you will love your Arowana.

Hi TL1031,
Its not recommended to decorate the tank for Arowana et'all. And do not keep any thing in red near it, My friend has a 2 and a half ft gaint Jardini Arowana and a 2 feet golden/ red awsome arowana. cause he had a red picture pasted to the back of the tank he was often found hitting the red mark, not sure why.

Also its not recommended to keep any other fish with arowana.

Its recommended to have a long medium height custom made tanks for these guys as they swim only in the top. also the tank should be broader width tanks for these for them to turn around. ( 3-4ft).
