I believe your talking about the tiger catfish. He gets about 60 inches in the wild and about 36 inches in captivity that would be a 4 ft. by 8 ft. tank unless your rich don't think you'd wanna buy one of those. ------------------ IP: Logged |

gr8fuljames is right. I have seen this fish under the name shovelmouth catfish (pseudoplatystoma fasciatum). It can achieve length of almost 3 feet in an aquarium. It is only intended for the largest of display tanks and it will swallow any fish that is small enough to eat! IP: Logged |

ya i agree with every one. they get to be a nice size. they r cool looking but i think u could get one in a 85g tank. they mostley stay at the bottum so u could get a fish that stays at the top like a needle nose gar. people think oh they get to be huge but they wont get that big in captivity. like 3feet. people will show u pics of them in the wild ofcours they get to be huge in the wild. i would get at least a 85g with the tiger and if u wont a needle nose gar.
