I have a 1g tank with a heater and I am going to buy some java moss to put in it. After that could I put a pair of guppies in. And would they breed. And do they have eggs or are they born alive.Please tell me quick because I am going to the local petstore tomorrow. IP: Logged |

Sure, I can breed in a closet LOL. No but seriously Your gonna need more like a 10 gal. and it should be bare btm. with a sponge filter. Your also going to need more tanks for grow out. The female releases 15-30 babies (not eggs) about every three or four weeks. This would get pretty crowded realy quick. please do more research if you end up with a pair or your gonna have problems. yah ur gonna need a 10 gallon, with a heater. java moss should be great with them cause it gives the babies more places to hide, yes they are born alive. they are really easy to breed but when the girl gets fat then you should put her in a breeding net so the babies dont get eaten and then take her out after they are born so she wont eat them.good luck IP: Logged |

Everytime i put my female guppy in a breeding net most of the fries come out dead or deformed. Its better without a breeding net. IP: Logged |

i would not breed guppys to tell u the truth. they will mass produce in a one gallen they will kill there yung. ya i would go with a 5g or a 10g would be the best. IP: Logged |
