does anybody know how to tell if a tiger oscar is a girl or a boy and can i put a 2inch oscar in with my 6inch oscar? will the big one torment the little one or should i try separating them in the tank until the lil ones big enough to defend itself? IP: Logged |

the best time to tell males from females is when they are about to spawn. the male will have a slightly sharper genital near the anal area...where the female will be slightly rounder..also the male will become more aggressive and his color will become brighter. as you can tell sexing oscars is hard work. hope this helps i would not put the smaller oscar in with the big one. the bigger one would pick on the smaller one until he died.
