i have a 6inch oscar, pleco and a blue losbster living in a 35 gallon tank and i wanted to know how to sex the oscar and how to tell if he has hole in the head ![]() i dont think he does but i wanto know what it looks like so im prepared if it ever happens.i also wanted to know if i can put a 2inch oscar in with him, will he hurt it all its life or can i separate them until its big enough to defend itself? please help... Puff: Ok, I am not here to slam you or anyone else who has previously replied to you. There is not a really big hole in the head in HITH disease. It looks like craters, not an actual hole. Trust me when I tell you that your tank is over crowded at this point and anyone who tells you different has got to have a hole in their head. 1 oscar needs a 55 gallon tank....PERIOD!!! Please take me advice on this....get a bigger tank and do not put anything else in with it other than what you already have!!!!! Good luck to you IP: Logged |

In regards to the original question - you cannot visibly sex an oscar without performing a necropsy or actually being witness to the spawning to see who lays eggs. It may be possible with venting but you need to be familiar with this before it becomes a foolproof method. IP: Logged |
