I've had a 10 gallon for like 5 years, and I'm tired of it, I'm gonna get a 30 gallon with a stand, I might even get a 40, but can I get a price, and how many fish should be in it, and what types? IP: Logged |

tanks are really expensive, bran new would cost around 75-100 canadian(if u live in the states then it would be cheaper lol) it doesnt matter what fish you put in it as long as they can live together. you could probably get a MUCH sheaper tank second hand. they work the same, i got a 35 gallon for like 15$ so check out in a second hand shop or garage sales or newpapers. good luck IP: Logged |

Listen to JsX. He is right....go for a 55 gallon and walmart does have the best price. The amt of fish you can put in there is based upon the type of fish...the rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. This holds true if you are talking about community fresh water fish....if you are talking the larger breeds such as Oscars, you can have 1 per 55 gallon. They produce more waste. Remember, little fish can turn into bigger fish. Please keep us posted and remember, knowledge is power so do all your research before you dive in. IP: Logged |

Go for the 55 gallon....you won't be sorry. As for how many fish....well, the rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. This applies mainly to tropical freshwater community fish...not fish such as oscars, severums, pacu, etc....you know, the real big fish. (Remember, the baby ones grow up too and over crowding them leads to disease and death) If you choose to get a big fish, 1 of them is plenty for a 55 gallon tank. Keep us posted and remember that knowledge is power so reseach research research before you buy!!!! Good luck and have fun with your new addiction LOL IP: Logged |
