If it helps you any I just put a light over my freshwater tank that the pet stores use on their saltwaters. I don't know about the specific light you are talking about but my lfs said that it won't hurt anything but it might make the algae grow faster. It's more of a purple color though. IP: Logged |

I think it looks better. It used to look too yellowish for me. Now my fish actually look like they do in the pet stores. My light are more of a purplish color than blue. And I'm still trying to figure out if it's worth the 20 bucks I had to spend on it. IP: Logged |

I have three of those lights on my 125 gallon fresh water tank I love the light set up. To me gives a more peaceful look and no it wont hurt fresh water fish. IP: Logged |
