i started mine on minnows and now that is all he will eat..but i wouldn't recommend it because they get very aggressive and it introduces alot of other problems in the tank. (parasites etc....)

thanks for the advice...am trying to wean him on feeder fish but he just won't touch them...aaahh if only i know then what i know now.

HI kaitlin0000, Just a suggestion, Minnows are more prone to all kinds of disease more than Goldfish or Guppies.

I started to breed guppies just so my oscars have something to eat. Is that a good idea?

Frozen beefheart and a product called emerald entree. Sometimes frozen peas. My wife's black mollys won't stop breeding so he gets the juvenile mollys when they are about 3/4" long. He likes ghost shrimp as well. Be careful buying any kind of feeder fish from a LFS. They can introduce disease.
