I stayed home from school today just in case i got sick...so i layed there on my bed watchin my beta fish, Itsuki swim around and hide in his little castle...but he got up close 2 the side of the bowl and I noticed his eye had white stuff around it...can anyone tell me what is wrong with my fishy? please!!

looks like he has ick on his eye and needs to be cured ASAP. i would recommend maracide or quick cure. Good luck.

It sounds like your fish has a fungus. There are medications available to treat fungus. Be sure to follow the directions very closely and do water changes fairly often afterwards to remove any medication remaining. I haven't kept betta fish, but a small amount of aquarium salt (NOT table salt) may help in the future.

It depends on the severity, but if he's so sick that an hour will kill him, chances are he may not make it anyway. A commonly recommended medication on several forumns is Maracide (Maracyn). Make sure to get the one for fungus. Read the instructions and treat exactly as recommended (more is not better). I think the medication cycle is generally 5 days.
