i just got a convict and a texas blue cichlid on tuesday. when i came home from school on thursday they were dead? i don't know why. i have a 30 gallon tank and sonn i'm getting a 55 gallon. i also have 2 baby oscars and a jack dempsey that i traded a guy a 5 inch red pacu for the jack dempsey. it is about 4 to 5 inches and it's yellow!!! i've never seen a yellow jack dempsey before with black stripes. anyways the jack dempsey and the 2 baby oscars and 2 plecos are the only thing that hasn't died. will they die to? is there a disease in my tank? i went to my local pet store today on thursday and got some medicine for my fish who are still alive. it's called aqua safe, it neutralizes chlorine, chloramine, and heavy metals harmful to fish. it enhances natural, protective slime coating of fish. it's a complete formula, works in seconds, it says it's a water conditioner. is this going to help? do i need to put the fish in a seperate tank and clean the tank out and put new water in. just in case there is a disease in my water? i don't know what to do and i don't want all of my other fish to die. please help me any information would be much appreciated.

also i had ran out of flake food and since all of my fish are cichlids i decided to get cichlid pellets called hikari cichlid staples and none of my fish are eating it what do i do? vany information would be much appreciated.

That is not medicine, it's just dechlorinator. you need to use that everytime you change your water if you use tap water. if your other fish are ok, I assume that isn't the problem. there were no marks on your fish that died?

no there were no marks when they died they were all doing great together then when i came home they were a pale white and were dead so i removed them as quickly as possible.
