I have never had a case of ICK go away by itself you usually need to treat your tank, water changes, etc.

Hey Joey Dirt,
I have heard that ich is a progressive disease, meaning it only gets worse the longer it is left untreated. It is not that difficult to treat so you might not want to risk it.

Hi Joey Dirt, I could go into a long orration about active and dormant state Ick, but for all practical purposes, once Ick has become active in the tank it must be treated to make it go away.
