have three large red piranna and 4 med sized one...am fairly new owner about 4 mos..question is...can I mix them if the smaller ones are half the size of the big ones or would they become lunch.....second question....does it matter what height the tank is are they happier in long tank vs higher and shorter tank as they seem to prefer the bottom of the tanks they are in....am buying larger tanks for them your imput would be appreciated thankyou pirannalover IP: Logged |

Well Hi, Im a piranha lover to. They say you should not put the smaller ones in. But if you get a very big tank and seperate them witch glas they might get over the size thing. (wouldent recommend it though) They are boddemfish and need even places that are compleetly dark to hide from your relatives faces.(and other types of stress) stefan IP: Logged |

thankyou so much for your information stefan...really love my fish...had tropical before..but these are the best yet...have noticed that when I pass by they get fast and agitated so will pay attention and give them place to get away to....appreciate your advice....as these are the only fish I have and want appreciate your advice..am looking into perhaps black or have heard of blue piranna or gold dust ones..havent found any yet...thanks again IP: Logged |
