I have 2 Red Bellied Pacu, I love the guys. Dont waste your money on special formulated foods for them. I've had mine for years and feed them regular food. Pacu's are actually vegetarians, they love peas and might eat lettuce. I feed mine bologne and chicken. They sometimes get leftovers from my meals, like roast beef and ham. Dont bother buying pet store foods, as the fish gets bigger, you'll be spending a LOT of money on foods.

I have a 10 inch pacu with 3 red oscars. He will eat feeder fish, carrots, algae pellets, and he loves peanuts.
