i have had 2 4 to 5 inch oscars for almost 2 months in a 100 gallon tank. i had just bought 2 albino plecos ( juveniles ) and the oscars no doubt ate them. so i said oh well at least there fed for the day. well the next day they were still eating them and the next day after that. now today both of them died. there fins were all split into shreds and there lips were cut up but they don't fight ever. does anyone know why my oscars died they were fine 2 days ago. any also if i bought fish from meijers would they be more likely to have a disease than at a pet store?. any information would be much appreciated.

thanks.

Hi skatefan29, The problem is you had dead fish in the tank for 3 days. When fish die or are killed you should remove them right away. If they're left in the tank for more than just a few hours they foul the water.

Hi skatefan29,
I would certainly agree with kc5gvn.
Also i would not get my pet and associate it with my other fishes from meijers, Rather i would go with Pet store after they have been kept in the store for over 3-4 days
