I was just looking at a website (since I am trying to breed guppies too!) and it said they need the heat. I was wondering, how did you tell the guppy was pregnant? And when should I put her in the breeding net (or in my case, a sepearte 1-gallon bowl placed inside the aquarium since my friend had experience with the guppies swimming out of the net!)to have her babies? Thanks so much for the help!

usually u can tell when the guppy is pregnant when its stomach swells to about 2-3 times the normal size. also, u can sumtimes see the baby fish inside of the mothers stomach if you look close enough.

I used to breed guppies. After a while, I stopped putting the mother into a net or seperate tank. I found she got really stressed and tended to miscarriage. You'll be able to tell when she's pregnant, the anus gets quite red as well as the belly swelling. Just leave her in the same tank and add lots of plants so the fry can hide when they're born. Leave some plants floating on the water's surface. She'll give birth to a lot of fry, so even if she eats some, you'll still have lots. Once you see the fry, put them into a different tank until they get bigger.

hi, i used to breed guppies 2. if u want to breed her with a specific male then put them together away from the other guppies(if ther are any) its realy easy to tell if shes pregnant. she will get REALLY fat and if shes a clearer colour than u might b able to c the babies! if she gets like this than put her in a breeding net.no she shouldnt b able to swim out or the babies(if u bought it a a pet store) but she will eat the babies so keep an eye on her and when she has the babies than take her out.and DONT put the babies in with any other fish. it will take about a month for them to grow. and u can get some growth food to speed up theyre growth.good luck
