my dad purchased a half white angel yesterday for his 90 gallon aquarium. he already has a coral beauty and it seems like they got into a fight. the half white angel is at the top of the tank swimming up there with a few split fins and the coral beauty is staying by the rocks with MANY split fins and bites marks/areas he it bumped into rocks with on its head. is there anything that we could do to stop this from happening? both fish are prob about 2 1/2 inches in length and the coral beauty lives with other non-aggresive fish in the tank.

Hi grnlemonade, The problem is they are too close in size. With Marine angels they will fight if they are too close in size or color. I'm trying to remember (brain fart) but I think it is the juvenile Koran Angelfish and the juvenile Queen Angelfish that look almost exactly alike and will end up killing each other if they are placed together. With Marine Angels they need to be a different color and at least 1 1/2 inches different in size, otherwise you will have a fight on your hands. That gave me a problem too because I love the Coral Beauty and the Flame Angel, and they shouldn't be kept together.
