My guppy fry are now 4 days old, and they are still pretty transparent...is it because the parents dont really have too much color or are they supposed to look like this? and if so, when do they start to get their color?? I also have a Question about African dwarf frogs...i have the pellets that they are supposed to eat, but i think that they may have trouble finding the pellets in a 60 gallon. they have been eating the flake food the last couple of days...will this harm them or shoud i try some thing else. I also put in frozen blood worms, but all the other fish eat them before the frogs get a chace...they may get one if they are lucky. I have an african dwarf frog too, and he eats frozen blood worms, I think that flakes would be fine though. IP: Logged |

Any fish fry takes awhile to gain colour and to mature. Your Guppy fry is only 4 days old. It will take atleast 3-4 weeks to grow enough to show some colour. They are supposed to look small and clear until they get much older. IP: Logged |

Guppies should start getting some color at about 4 or 5 weeks (I've noticed on mine that the black starts showing up long before any of the other colors do). ADF's are actually pretty good hunters and they're nocternal so they may be eating while you're asleep and aren't watching them. But if you're really worried, you can put something in the tank that has a flat surface (like a piece of slate or ceramic tile) and put their pellets on that. -Chelle IP: Logged |
