Currently I have 1 bolivian Ram and a plecostomus in my 10 gal tank. I'm planing to get a 40 gal tank in a month or 2. In the meantime I wanted to know if I could add 2 more Bolivian Rams in my tank. Would it be too crouded to have 3 rams and a plecostomus in the 10 gal even if it is only for a short time? Thanks for your help!

Hi Alen, The general rule of thumb is 1"/gal for small tropicals and 1"/3 gals for larger tropicals. You should be OK with 3 Bolivian Rams and a Pleco.

I've herd that Bolivian Rams are a little territorial...would 10 gal really be enough for all three of them even with the inch per gal rule?

Hi Alen, I really don't think you'll have a problem with 3 in a 10 gallon, but I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time. I haven't kept them in a home tank only at the shop, and there were a lot more than 3 for 10 gallons. Of course you do realize shop tanks are not ideal situations.
