I have a betta fish who is acting really funny. I came home to find him floating at the top of the bowl completely vertical with the head at the top pointing towards the ceiling. I tapped on the bowl (I thought he was dead) and he sort of "wiggled" to the bottom. He then swam straight up to the top and then sort of "went limp" and sand head down to the bottom. He did this a couple more times before I got really freaked. I put some bottled water in a glass and moved him to it. I thought maybe it was the water. He sank to the bottom and doesn't move except for his gills which just continue to flap away. What is wrong!!!?!!! IP: Logged |

I agree, this is the type of thing to go to experts about. My only thought is to do water tests, and check that the temperature is correct. Definately ask a fish expert though. IP: Logged |

He may have swim bladder disease. I came across a great website about bettas and maybe you'd like to check it out at http://www.bettatalk.com/betta_diseases.htm .She talks about all sorts of Betta stuff. Good luck! ------------------ IP: Logged |
