Hello all.....I just got home from vacation and my parents were feeding my 2 iridescents and rainbow bosemani. Usually I am very fussy over my "fishies" (keeping the tank clean, it's 45g, and watching their daily habits). Well, I just got in and looked at them and on one of the plants in the tank there is a fuzzy tan colored ball. I know that these "sharks" are very hard to breed in a tank, but I was curious if since they were 6in. and 4in. if they could spawn in such a big tank. I don't think they could, but I don't want to move the object if it is in fact an egg sac. I don't even know how the "sharks" spawn since none of the sites I have checked out have any info. If any of you all know something, anything, even if you think it may be a piece of food or something in there for a week. Please let me know (I don't want to pollute the tank or disturb offspring). Thanks. IP: Logged |

Hi HCL113083, I hate to burst your bubble or in this case, break your eggs, but I'm afraid what you have is some food that has fungussed. I really don't know anything about ID Sharks spawning, but I do know the following facts. At 6" and 4" they haven't reached maturity and fish that get as large as they do just will not spawn in a 45 gallon tank. Sorry. IP: Logged |
