What will you do for a 14 days vacation leaving your aquarium unattended? Any good suggestions? Do I need to buy an automatic fish feeder for my 6 Bala sharks? How safe the power head water pump being submerged in the water? Thanks.

Hi george, I've never tried one, but they make automatic feeders now which hang on the tank and distribute food on a schedule. You might check into that and if it works it might be something you'll use all the time. Again, I've never used one and know very little about them so check them out with someone who has. Other than that I would suggest getting someone to take care of them while you are away.

Thank you guys, maybe I will try to convince my LFS located just on the mezzanie floor of our building if I can bring on my 6 bala sharks with them while I am away or if they don't accept, the last resort it to get an automated digital fish feeder that cost about US$38 built for 1 month vacation.

Do you have a neighbor who can come and help you by feeding the fish? If you leave very detailed instructions, they will be fine. Just leave them those 2 day feeders or whatever, and they can make it all 14 days!

NEVER GET A THE NEXT DOOR NAIBOR TO HELP FEED THE FISH!!! I EXPLANED 1 PINCH AND SHOWED HER BUT EVEN THAT MUCH I COME HOME AND WOW ALL MY FISH IN THE 20 GALLON TANK ARE DEAD!!! but my oscers survied(pigs) and grew but their was rotten food on the gravle and plants so if you have fath in your naibors go for it but i would trust a machine to do the work instead. just set it up like a week befor and make sure it works properly
