whats a stable number of fish to have in a 60 gallon?

the general rule is 1 inch per gallon. that's after your tank has cycled, and then you add them a few at a time. that gives the bacteria in the filtering systerm time to adjust to them.

The fewer the better, I would suggest 2-4 schooling fish.

Hi ChronicHaze, General rule is 1"/gal on small tropicals. On larger tropicals like Cichlids it is 1"/3 gals.
