I've got a 55 gallon tank and I'm thinking about filling it with a peacock eel and a freshwater baracuda. The tank is full of cover, but I'm still a little nervous that the 'cuda might nip at the eel. Does this sound like a risky combination? Thanks.

check out these sites http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/wild/ctenolucius_hujeta.htm
and this one http://species.fishindex.com/species_267acestrorhynchus_falcatus_freshwater_barracuda.html

i think the tank might be a tad small and that may cause the cuda to attack or eat the eel but
if you do it anyways like i would .. heh .. i would make sure the eel has plenty of places to hide and live
the size is a good ratio since the cuda will try to eat any small fish

ive only put eels in tanks with other eels...

Thank you much... On a side note I was wondering if anyone has more info about the salt content for the species. Most of what I have read suggests that spiny eels do not require brackish conditions, though a couple sites seem to recomend it. It's my understanding that in nature these eels live in purely fresh water, but move into brackish conditions to feed. Is the same true of the freshwater 'cuda? I've not been able to find much care info for the 'cuda, but I think most gar-like fish want a little salt in the water. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks again.
