I just got me 2 baby red bellied piranhas and was hoping someone could help me with a bit of basic info. What’s the best feed, Ideal water temp, can any other fish survive in the same tank, and how can you tell males from females? any help is much appreciated, tks much IP: Logged |

Its best to keep Pirhna's in groups of at least 4 fish. You should consider that they will grow up to 25cm and 4 pirahá's should be kept in a 66 gallon tank at least. 2 pirahna's kan be kept in a 50 gallon but they won't be al that happy. Fed them meat worms and (live) Fish. if you keep your tank filled witch tetra's of witch you every one in a while buy some new. Only then you could try some corridoras they won't eat theme as long as there are tetra's in the tank. If they get bigger they won't be intressted in tetra's. They will prefer incects and chunks of meat. (catfood had vitamines so try that once.) I have six redbelly's myself. so if you have anymore quastions.. just ask. IP: Logged |

you should also put a heater in the tank and dont stick your hands in the tank cause ive been bit three times IP: Logged |

hi, how do you tell if there are males and females and can they be kept with 3 baby oscars a 5 to 6 inch red pacu a firemouth and 2 plecos. Thanks. IP: Logged |
