I have a Ph test and I have no idea how old it is, I have heard that they go bad after a while, has anyone else heard this??

It should have an expiry date or something on it. If you want to check the accuracy, compare it to a friends results or the LFS.

I can't find a date on it, but it is not orange, so I think it is fine to still use.

HI ahoycatfish, While turning orange is a good indication, they can go bad and not change color. Also while a friend may have just purchased his PH kit there is no telling how long it sat on the shelf at the pet shop. The best situation is to test the water with your test kit, and then take a water sample to your local pet shop and have them test it. Generally the pet shop is going to have a fairly new set of reagents considering how often they test water for people. And any good salesperson is going to grab the freshest test set off the shelf for in store testing.
