well they prolly wont do that well... ive seen kids do this and they usually died with in the first week! but... i know alot of ppl that have sm bass in small (90-200 gal) ponds that do rather well ... even thought the bass can only live with koi or other fish around the same size other wise the bass will eat other small fish... though the ppl i know with the bass still stock the small pond with gold fish ( for a snack ) some gold fish make it and get too big for the bass to eat... another thing is REALLY illegal(depending on your state) to take fish from lakes and plant them some where else even if it is a private pond or tank! so watch out, ppl do it all the time though since they cant find places that sell bass IP: Logged |

Hi accordracer, To my knowledge it is illeagle in all Continental US states to place a game fish in an aquarium. It is also illeagel to place any tropical (Ornamental) fish in any non-confined lake, stream, river or waterway. This has always been a little confusing to me considering Texas Cichlids, Water Dogs (Mud Puppies), Clown Knives and Peacock Bass. Only thing I could suggest is go fishing, or find a local fishery that might sell just one. If you know someone who has a stock tank most of the time they will go to fisheries to stock their stock tank. You might work out a deal with them to purchase one or two from them the next time they stock their tank. IP: Logged |
