I usually feed my fish as much as they will eat in about 3-5 minutes. Check the packaging of the food to see if it says how much to feed them.

Hi cops5476, You are only overfeeding if they are not eating the food. A simple but true statement-"You don't overfeed fish you overfeed a tank". What this means is that if the fish eat everything you feed them you are not overfeeding them. Any food they don't eat is overfeeding the tank (creating bacteria). In all my years of operating tanks I have had only one fish that literally overate. It was a Jewel Cichlid. He literally burst from overeating after a spawning season. This was a very rare case, and just doesn't normally happen. So feed them whatever they will eat.
