would my cichlids get along with an angelfish if i bought one? i have a jack dempsey, yellow lab., electric blue, 2 jewels, and a kenyi. my sister has been wanting an angelfish n i said i would keep it in my tank since she duznt have one. would this work-out? my cichldis arnt very aggressive and i ahvnt fed them live food b4 so they wont get 2 excited with a new tank-mate.

well, I wouldn't. LOL
maybe the yellow labs would be ok, not thinking the rest though.
hey, have you spied on your fish when they don't know you're there?
they'll do some pretty aggressive stuff when they aren't expecting food LOL.
I never thought mine were that bad either until I was watching them where they couldn't see me and get focused on begging.

yes, actually i have n to my surpirse they are all fine together. none of the, are showing any signs of stress and none of their tials'fins nipped at. i was told that my dempsey would be hard 2 keep with them and he is the largest one in the tank but also the "protector" of the new fish. when i put in a new fish he will guard them from the other fish and he will show no hostile signs.

Hi grnlemonade, You can put an Angelfish in there for about 3 MINUTES. Even though your fish don't seem aggressive it's because the other fish you have them with are all about the same level of aggressiveness. When you put an Angel in there you will find out how quickly their aggressiveness will come out.

Hi grnlemonade, LOL... I've been running aquariums for over 30 years. I worked or ran 3 different pet shops and 1 wholesale fish supply over a period of 13 years. I've experimented with tropical fish in several different areas. I've made probably every mistake you can make. In other words, thanks for bringing to my attention that I'm getting old.
