Help, the water in my goldfish tank is bright green and has been for months, each fortnight i have done about 25% water change, i have moved the tank away from sunlight, i have put in algea kill stuff and nothing has made any real difference- i really dont know what else to do, would a full water change help or hinder the tank? (by the way all the fish are still happy aand healthy) IP: Logged |

Hi Tess, Bright green is definately algae. When you do your water changes make sure to remove debris from the gravel. I wouldn't recommend a complete water change since this would drastically change all of the parameters in your tank and could cause your tank to recycle. It would help to know what size tank you are running. IP: Logged |

Is the water green, or is the sides of the tank green?? I got some mystery snails, they seem to eat the algea well. The only disadvantage is that they lay eggs all of the time!! I would also ask the pet store what they think you should do. Hope this helps!! IP: Logged |
