Hi mightyone_5, I'm sorry I can't tell you a whole lot about Killies. What I do know is that in a tank they have a relatively short lifespan of about 4 years under ideal conditions. Quote from - "Breeding Aquarium Fishes" by Dr. Herbert R. Axelrod - "A pair or trio consisting of a male and two females should be kept in a covered aquarium, because they are active jumpers. Best water for them is slightly acid and soft (ph 6.8, DHabout 5), and the temperature about 76 degrees F. For breeding, an aquarium of 5 gallons has the advantage over a larger one in that the eggs are concentrated in a smaller space and are easier to find."

Although they sound easy to care for I suspect the opposite to be true since I have only seen 1 shipment of killies in the DFW area in 33 years. This was just a couple of months ago and they were priced at $7 each. Hopefully you can come back and tell me I'm wrong. They're beautiful fish that I've always been curious about.
