i had recently purchased some slate which turned out to be limestone and that raised the hardness of the water i imediatly took it out. since the water is hard it raises my ph and i ran out of ph down. unfortiantly i will have no transportation to the nearest pet store for 4 days and because of that i cannot purchase water softener so can anyone tell me how to soften my fish tank water without using water softener

You can do partial water changes over several days to reduce the water hardness. However I DON'T recommend it. Trying to reduce the water hardness quickly is far more detrimental to your fish than the hard water. If you leave them alone I think you will find that they will do OK. As for the PH increase you can add a PH buffer like Novaqua without any detrimental effects. It is much safer and better for your fish to buffer the PH rather than trying to lower it.
