Have you done any water changes? I'd start there! 2 weeks is a long time to use any medication. change your water!! As far as overcrowding, I guess it would depend on the kind of fish. For example, I don't think 43 neon tetras in a 48 gallon would be overcrowding? [This message has been edited by dianenm (edited 01-01-2004).] IP: Logged |

Honestly, I've never found ich hard to get rid of at all. It goes away in 2 days tops, for me anyway. that's why I suggested water changes. once I had a persistent ich problem, where it would go away then come back again a week later. I had a few deaths, also a community tank. I discovered my husband had not changed the filter as I thought he had. so after replacing the filter media (we have biowheels so the filter needed changing) no more ich problems or deaths.. I think all of us here can only speak from our own experiences. good luck to you.. it is so frustrating to lose fish. oh, and "the rule" is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. so count up those inches! I had some fish that got Ick too. It was really bad, a lot of my fish died. When you use the medicine, make sure to take the carbon out of the filters because it takes the medicine out of the water. Also I would take the sick fish out and put them in a different fish tank. I hope your fish get better, good luck!!!! IP: Logged |
