The thing to remember about snails is that if you have 2 you have 200. Snails reproduce very quickly and in very large numbers. If you want to try and keep your tank down to 1 snail without killing all of the others I would think very seriously about giving them away.

I would charge around 90 cents per snail. and if nobody wants to buy them at that price.. .then charge lower.

I have this same problem and I don't know what to do!! I have about 30-40 baby snails in my aquarium, but they are so small that It's impossible to find them all!! And my adult one keeps laying eggs... but I only have one adult one in my aquarium now!! Does anyone know why it keeps laying eggs when there is one adult snail?????

snails dont need a mate to reproduce they r kibda both sexes they have both organs needed to reproduce so if u have 1 it can reproduce on its own!

Hi animalgurl, It is true that snails have both reproductive organs, but only an extreme few can reproduce by themselves.

Is there some fish that can be purchased that like to eat the eggs. I know you probably don't want to buy phiranas' I know thats mean. Sorry. Snails must feel too.

Hi JsX, For the Apple Snails, they lay their eggs on plant stalks above the water line. If you'll put some Umbrella Palm, Thalia or Water Cannas in your pond you should end up with more Apple Snails than you know what to do with.

Yeah, I think most people know about the snail problem, which is my they wouldn't buy them off you. You'd have to give them away as fish food, probably.
Other posts on this site say that certain types of goldfish love to eat snail eggs. That way, you can keep your snail or two but the eggs get eaten before they are actually snails. Kinda like a snail abortion program.
