I have added salt to my tank because I have platties and they enjoy it....now that my tank has cycled and I am going to be buying a few new fish I need to reduce the salt in my tank. Is there any way to reduce the amount in the tank besides water changes?

The only way to reduce the salt content is by water changes. If your salt content is not greater than 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of water there is no need to remove the salt to add fish. Salt adds needed electrolytes to the water and helps in slime coat production.
