I was just curious if any one knows what the life span of a Beta is? I've had one for coming up 3 years in January and he's starting to not be very active. He sit's on the bottom unless you feed him and his fins are looking a little tired. He also seems to struggle to swim to the top. Thanks.

Yeah, they live something like that. I have had some that live a few months, and a few that live a few years. SOme are old bettas when you buy them in the store, so I would think we really don't know. For all we know they are 2 years when we get them, then they live years with us. I don't know, but I am sure someone does!

I've had mine for a year and two months and I really though he was going to die the other day, but has perked up. I don't know what happened. He is moving around like normal now. Maybe he was backed up or something. I think he seemed to have a bulge in his belly.
