hi all! here's my problem. i have a 55 gal tank w/ 2 pike cichlids, a rope fish, and a pleco in it. i'm looking for an aggressive bottom feeder to help keep the tank clean. i bought a large goldfish to do the job but they tore him up in 2 days. i had a large goldfish in a tank w/ a snakehead and a large oscar and had no problems. now i need some suggestions on what i might be able to put in here to help keep the tank clean.
thanks!!

hmmm sound like you need an aggressive catfish. Try to get a shovelnose cat they will clean up, or you could try to get some full grown pictus cats max would be 2

The shovelnose and the pictus won't take in the food settled into the gravel. There are several of the species Geophagus that will actually take in the gravel and filter the settled food. Geophagus Juarapari or Braziliinses are probably the preferred of the species. However they still might not be compatible with the Pike Cichlids. The Pike's are extremely aggressive. I've even had them beat up on Pacus.
