Hi! I have a green spotted puffer fish. I have this fish in an community tank even though I have been warned about doing so. I have not been able to find a way to tell the gender of a green spotted puffer fish. I was wondering if there was any way of being able to tell the gender of a green spotted puffer fish. Hi Fish-Lover, There is none that I have heard of. Looking at a tank full of puffers you might make a guess of bright colors for males and dull colors for females. This is not to be critical of the female species it's just that males are usually brighter colored in any species so that they can strut their stuff to attract a female. Even if you were able to determine male from female I've never heard of puffers mating in a tank. Good Luck. IP: Logged |
