I have two gold fish and one of them is either bloated and/or fat. This did not happen over night and on occasion the problem fish dosn't swim normally. There are no outward signs of disease or parasites. When I transfer this fish to a hospital tank with epsom salt for 15 minutes per day,the fish does get "better" by which I mean it swims more normally. It hasn't "thinned" any though. These fish are quite a number (at least 5-7 years old) of years old. Any ideas? IP: Logged |

What kind of goldfish is it? What do you feed it and how often? Do the scales stick out? When it swims abnormally, what does it do (ie: swim on its side, upside down, jerk, really fast/slow etc) I had a goldfish that seemed to be swelling on one side. It turned out to be constipated. Have you tried feeding it cooked peas? IP: Logged |
