We have had "Pinky" since August and we have him in a 35 galloon tank. He seeme to be okay but we only have undergravel filtration a few plastic plats and some statues as well as colored rocks. The tank itself is kinda old it has calcium buildup on it that I don't know how to get off and I am not sure how to accomadate his feeding, room size or his needs I have taken a great fancy to him and don't want him to die but I am worried he is not going to last. What I am I missing??? IP: Logged |

If I was you the first thing I would do is get more filtration for the tank. Then start cleaning the build up off of it but when I clean my tanks I dont do it all at once I do it over a period of about a month. I have had real good luck doin it this way. As long as there is not a dramastic change in ph or water temp then your fish should be fine. I would suggest starting with a 20% water change and then gradually go from there. IP: Logged |
