hi, my swordtail looks like it has protruding scales on the top of his head (top of the mouth to the dorshal fin). Is there any natural ways of curing it.

Hi Azianboi343, This one is kind of a stumper. It is not dropsy. The protruding scales are on top and not on the side as in dropsy. Without seeing the fish this is only speculation, but what I suspect is some type of parasite, possibly flukes or anchor worms, underneath the scales forcing them upwards. There is not a natural cure for parasites. It will require medication once the type of parasite is determined.

If it is parasites as I suspect they would be contageous. Your best solution is to take the fish to your local fish store if at all possible to find out exactly what you have.
