Hiya
I have a Black Moor who is starting to turn silver from the belly up. I have treated for finrot but that doesn't seem to be it.
I haven't had the fish very long but otherwise it seems healthy.
Is this common for Black Moors to loose their coloring or should I be looking for something that is causing this?
I think I had a problem with my cycle before it started as both fish were going to the top and gulping but I've done a 20% water change for two days now and they are pretty much back to normal apart from the color change.
I am pretty new to keeping fish, I had a goldfish when I was a kid but he seemed to live forever on not much care, so I think maybe I was just lucky with him.
I have a 10gal tank, with filter and just the two fish, should I be looking at getting an air pump and stone as well?

Any help greatly appreciated
Cheers
Caitlyn

Dear Caitlin,

I am new to fish keeping as well. I have a ten galloon tank, but I do bot have any goldfish. Your black moore may be loosing color because of a lack of a nutrious diet. some fish have their best colors if they have good diet. You should observe and see what the fish is eating and check labels on your fish food.:-)
