hey i have a big minnow net i bought at walmart and i was wondering if i could go down to the river and catch some minnows but i am going to put them in a serparte tank for about 4 days b4 i start feeding them to my rbp would this be ok? IP: Logged |

on they might be sick and the water might be dirty but qurrayteen them for a while and feed the rbp the helthey-ist 1 IP: Logged |

Hi paranah dude, I really wouldn't recommend minnows. They are cold water fish, and are more suseptable to parasites than goldfish. If you do use them you need to quarentine them for more than 4 days. Closer to 10 days in a tank treated for parasites and fungus which will end up costing you more than buying feeder goldfish. As far as food for minnows I would just buy the cheapest flake food I can find, probably Wardley goldfish flakes. I don't mean to be critical but I do hope I have discouraged you from using minnows.
