Hello Danny3254, You can use sea salt from your local store, but why would you want to? First sea salt is quite a bit more expensive. Also I believe 1 tablespoon of sea salt will give you a higher specific gravity than 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt making it difficult to accurately measure the amount needed for your tank. Just a little side tip: NON-IODIZED ice cream salt like you purchase at the grocery store has the same content as aquarium salt at 1/4 the cost and the dosage is the same. You might think about saving yourself some money on tank treatment and use the money on fish. PS. Actually the cost is less than 1/4 because for 1/4 the cost your getting about 3 times as much salt. Sorry for the error. [This message has been edited by kc5gvn (edited 11-30-2003).] IP: Logged |
