African cichlids can be so colorful that they look like salt water. I have a 55 gal full of them ranging from fry to 6 inches. beautiful and fun fish. they like hard, salty water and need many caves to hide in. you'd probably need a chunk of limestone to keep the water hard, plus they like lots of water changes and eat special cichlid food. I think they are great for my area because our tap water is very hard. IP: Logged |

I agree with all the cichlid lovers here. I have a 55 gal with cichlids in it and as a matter a fact there are 2 male elctric blue johannis in it and they are stunning fish so grnlemonade has my vote for great taste. Thank you IP: Logged |

Currently my favorite type of fish is the Bala Shark, sometimes refered to as a "silver shark" They are very good looking fish, And can grow i hear to an outstanding 18' on very rare occasions. But they are quick and very streamline. Their silver texture is brilliant. IP: Logged |

I would consider doing something different with a 100 gallon. Maybe brackish water with puffers or a blackwater tank with gouramis. I think a heavily planted blackwater tank with a bit of spotlighting and driftwood would be stunning. IP: Logged |

I would get some cory catfish, they eat the extra food on the bottom on the tank. IP: Logged |
